Building Operations Services (BOS) is responsible for ensuring that all Harris County facilities perform to the level necessary to meet the day-to-day activity needs of the structure, equipment, and systems to ensure the safety of its occupants and visitors.

Building Operations Services  Overview

 

Building Operations Services maintains approximately 145 facilities, including six certified by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). In Harris County, 8.9 million square feet of space are managed by Building Operations Services. In addition, 6.4 million square feet of attached parking are maintained over 1,800 square miles. Our facilities include county annexes, libraries, office buildings, jails, and courthouses, to name a few. We have facilities that are available to the public and county employees. Some of these facilities are open 24 hours a day.

Our Responsibilities Include the Following

» Developing & managing facility operating budget

» Managing all county leased space

» Interior & exterior facility maintenance

» Facility access & fire control

» Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system maintenance

» Parking assignments and maintenance

» Cleaning
